This is an exciting opportunity to create your own fine silver jewellery, using ‘silver clay’. Silver clay is a product which consists of pure silver particles in a clay form, which can be moulded and fashioned in a similar way to ceramic clay. After a short firing process (using a simple gas torch) silver clay fuses to become pure silver. The pieces can then be filed, sanded, polished and burnished in the usual way. In its clay form, the silver is very easy to work and extremely versatile, as almost any shape and texture can be achieved. Yet in its fired, pure silver form it is robust and has a fine lustre.
During the workshop you will be introduced to the silver clay and make at least one piece of silver jewellery to take home. Examples include pendants and earrings.
