1 Minster Church of  St. Cuthburga (Wimborne Minster)

Wimborne Minster has something to offer visitors of all ages. As well as the fine Norman architecture there is the famous Astronomical Clock, the Quarterjack - a life-size soldier on the west tower - and a unique chained library.

2 Priest’s House Museum & Garden

The Priest’s House Museum & Garden is set in an historic town house where a series of period rooms takes the visitor back through the centuries.  From the 17th Century Hall to the Georgian Parlour and working Victorian Kitchen, our rooms show what life and work was like for people in the past. The Museum tells the story of the East Dorset area from prehistoric to modern times.  With hands-on activities in the archaeology, childhood and East Dorset villages galleries, there is plenty to see and do!

3 Wimborne Model Town  & Gardens

Opened in 1951, the 1/10th scale models of Wimborne are now a vintage miniature world of life in a Dorset market town in the 1950s.  Visitors can really get close up and even touch the buildings, checking out every minute detail of over 100 shop window displays.  Set in a relaxing garden setting, the Sensory Garden, 00 gauge model railway, dolls house exhibition and Wendy Street play area offer a range of additional facilities to all.  Don’t forget the tea rooms and shop.  We aim to be disabled friendly with level access paths, and two on site wheelchairs.

4 Walford Mill Crafts

Walford Mill Crafts is a leading venue in contemporary craft  and design. Surrounded by the river Allen, this eighteenth century mill is situated on the edge of the historical market town of  Wimborne Minster. Throughout the year, this centre of excellence offers a diverse programme of exhibitions featuring high quality craftwork by some of the very best local and national makers.  There is an opportunity to meet resident makers to observe their skills and expertise and a Gallery Shop filled with handmade jewellery, textiles, wood, glass and ceramics. Offering a variety of workshops and family events, Walford Mill Crafts is a popular attraction for both local residents and visitors to Dorset.

5 Wimborne Market

6 Tivoli Theatre

The wonderful auditorium of the beautifully restored Art Deco Tivoli Theatre is the perfect setting for a wide variety of live performances, from comedy to music, dance to drama, plus the latest in feature films.

7 Kingston Lacy (NT)

Kingston Lacy (National Trust) was the seat of the Bankes family for over 300 years.  Today you can discover an internationally acclaimed art collection, including paintings by Rubens, Titian and Tintoretto, exquisite carvings and the largest private collection of Egyptian artefacts in the UK. The garden is 47 acres with Parterre, Sunk Garden, Victorian Fernery, Blindwalk, the recently restored Japanese Gardens and an 18th century Lime Avenue leading to the Nursery Wood which includes Lady’s Walk.  The landscaped Park is 300 acres, set with wonderful specimen trees, home to the Red Ruby Devon herd of cattle.  The woodland shelter belt is mainly of beech, oak and ash, Coneygar Copse includes three play areas.  The Woodland Walk is approximately 2.5 miles long.  An 18th century cornmill, White Mill, can be visited at weekends from March to November.  Visitors can also explore Badbury Rings, an ancient Iron Age hillfort, near Wimborne Minster (approx 5 minute drive from House).

8 Knoll Gardens

Regularly featured in the national press and on TV, Knoll Gardens is renowned for its naturalistic style and ornamental grasses which sit within a framework of rare and unusual trees and shrubs. Originally a private botantic garden, Knoll is now owned by the UK’s leading ornamental grass expert, and Senior Chelsea Flower Show judge, Neil Lucas, whose planting style has created an inspirational garden abundant with wildlife. The garden is discovered via a network of winding paths leading through a series of horticultural galleries providing quiet places of contemplation and dramatic focal points. With vibrant spring colour, and exquisite summer flowers covered in butterflies and bees, Knoll is at its peak in late autumn and early winter when its stunning autumn colours are brought to dramatic effect backlit by the winter sun.
